Ignition Lockout

A boiler fault code alone is not a gas or carbon-monoxide emergency. If you smell gas, a CO alarm sounds, or someone has possible carbon-monoxide symptoms, leave and call 0800 111 999 from outside.

Safe check: Check whether other gas appliances work and, if you use a prepayment meter, that it has credit. Contact your gas supplier if the supply is interrupted. In cold weather, thaw an accessible frozen condensate pipe from ground level with warm (not boiling) water. Then follow the guide to restart once only.

Gas Safe registered engineer: The code remains after one restart or the condensate pipe cannot be reached safely; arrange a Gas Safe registered engineer.
