Why a Gas Safe engineer
Three reasons the register is the right line.
The UK's official register is run by the Health and Safety Executive. Using a registered engineer isn't a quality preference — it's the legal requirement. Unregistered work can:
- Void your home insurance. Many policies require evidence of Gas Safe registration for any boiler work; without it, a claim can be refused.
- Leave you liable for the cost of damage. An unregistered installer carries no professional indemnity to fall back on.
- Hide carbon-monoxide risks. CO is colourless and odourless — the things a registered engineer checks for by training, an unregistered person isn't equipped to spot.
