How the postcode check works
The postcode check looks for active, verified coverage. If a partner matches, you can separately choose whether to send them your postcode and symptom triage report. A match does not confirm availability or an appointment.
After a referral request
After the postcode check, an active verified partner appears if one covers your area. Only after you give separate consent and submit the referral does BoilerBuddy send that partner your postcode and triage summary. This is not a booking, and no reply, availability or appointment is guaranteed. If there is no match, use the official Gas Safe Register below; you can separately opt in to a coverage update.

Why a Gas Safe engineer
Three reasons the register is the right line.
The UK's official register is run by the Health and Safety Executive. Using a registered engineer isn't a quality preference — it's the legal requirement. Unregistered work can:
- Void your home insurance. Many policies require evidence of Gas Safe registration for any boiler work; without it, a claim can be refused.
- Leave you liable for the cost of damage. An unregistered installer carries no professional indemnity to fall back on.
- Hide carbon-monoxide risks. CO is colourless and odourless — the things a registered engineer checks for by training, an unregistered person isn't equipped to spot.
