What EA means
EA indicates that the boiler could not complete its start-up sequence; on this range a blocked or frozen condensate pipe is one documented possibility.
Safe check
Without removing the casing, check an accessible external condensate pipe for ice and thaw it with warm, not boiling, water. Follow the user manual and reset once only.
When to contact an engineer
EA returns after one safe thaw and reset, the pipe is inaccessible or damaged, or the boiler repeatedly locks out.
