What E28 means

E28 means the boiler has detected a fault with its flue temperature sensor. This sensor monitors the flue temperature, and the manual classifies the code as a component fault.

Gas Safe engineer: A Gas Safe registered engineer should diagnose and repair the flue temperature sensor fault. Do not remove the boiler casing or change the sensor yourself.

A boiler fault code alone is not a gas or carbon-monoxide emergency. If you smell gas, a CO alarm sounds, anyone feels unwell, or there is an unsafe flame, leave and call 0800 111 999 from outside.
