What E.04.10 means

E.04.10 indicates that the burner failed to ignite after four attempts.

Safe check

Check that the gas supply is on and that a prepayment meter has credit; contact your gas supplier if supply is interrupted. In cold weather, thaw a frozen condensate pipe only if it is safely reachable from ground level, using warm (not boiling) water. Then follow the boiler guide to reset once only.

When to contact an engineer

The code remains after one reset, or the condensate pipe is not safely reachable; arrange a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Safety notice

A boiler fault code alone is not a gas or carbon-monoxide emergency. If you smell gas, a CO alarm sounds, anyone feels unwell, or there is an unsafe flame, leave and call 0800 111 999 from outside.
